A walk through downtown Hartford will have a new attraction for the next few weeks: “Stegosaurus,” the Alexander Calder sculpture installed in Burr Mall next to City Hall, is receiving a much needed face-lift thanks to the Ella Burr McManus Trust, which owns the sculpture. The Courant quotes Patrick Pannel, a member of the trust’s board: “We are really seeing signs of good revival in downtown Hartford, [and] we thought it was worth taking a deep breath and spending out of our endowment in putting ‘Stego’ in tip-top form. We’re just trying to be part of several attempts to get the city back into a lively, walkable shape.”
