Redesign the pedestrian walkway over I-91 in Hartford’s North Meadows into a linear park, urges an editorial from the Hartford Courant. The bridge was meant to be a good thing, meeting a federal requirement to mitigate damage done by highway construction,  says planner and CMSC Board member Toni Gold. Transforming the bridge into Hartford’s “High Line” with flowering plants is a better use and creates a welcoming gateway to the City, argues the Courant, who urges Riverfront Recapture, the Hartford Parks & and Recreation Advisory Commission and city officials to consider the idea.
