Residents, merchants and any others with ideas on how Canton should promote itself are invited to voice them during discussions organized by the town, reports the Hartford Courant. The effort is part of a larger marketing and branding strategy and will be incorporated into the work of Arnett Muldrow & Associates, a South Carolina-based consulting firm hired to help create the plan.
There will be five roundtable discussions on Aug. 17 and 18 which are being organized by the town’s economic development agency and the Canton Main Street Project. Funding for Arnett Muldrow and the marketing effort comes from the town and a $10,000 grant from CMSC’s Preservation of Place program through the State Housing Preservation Office.
A first draft of the study will be presented at noon on Aug. 19 in the community center.
