Manchester’s 14th annual Cruisin’ on Main Street was a huge success, reports the Hartford Courant. Local residents and people from as far away as Vermont, Rhode Island and Massachusetts came to see the approximately 850 vintage cars and trucks showcased along one mile of Main Street. The event was organized Tana Parseliti, manager of the the downtown special services district, a CMSC member community.
Since the event’s first year in 2001, more than 14,000 vintage cars have been displayed, and over 380,000 people have been drawn downtown to witness the event. According to the Courant, funds raised from the event will go toward MARC, Inc. of Manchester, a nonprofit organization that offers program and services to people with developmental disabilities.
