At CMSC, we know creating dynamic, thriving downtowns is hard work. We understand that it takes relationship building, creativity, and a passion for continually improving Main Street. That’s why we provide our members with education & training, resources and tools to cultivate the six core components of a healthy downtown, utilizing the Four Point Approach to Main Street Management to suit their community’s unique needs.

are communities with a professionally managed downtown including a board of directors and chief executive officer, and often additional staff. This category includes Business Improvement Districts, where business owners within a specified area of the downtown form a group to govern their activities related to revitalizing the area. This category also includes some Professionally Managed Main Street Programs that have taken the additional step of being recognized by the National Main Street Center as Designated Communities and must adhere to national standards in order to achieve this status.
