The West Haven Center for the Arts has hired an organizational and fundraising consultant, and an architect to continue plans to create an arts center in the former Masonic Temple on Center Street in West Haven.  Original plans called for a full renovation of two floors of the building, but plans have been scaled back to only the main floor, with further fundraising to continue after the new arts center is established.

To date, financing has included monies from CMSC’s Preservation of Place Grant program, as well as the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the state Bond Commission, the U.S. Energy Department, and the state Department of Economic and Community Development’s Offices of cultural and Tourism
