How can Connecticut better meet the needs of youth who are homeless so that they can seek services, complete education, obtain employment, and acquire housing? This IForum will review Connecticut’s current efforts to end youth homelessness and share emerging practices across the nation. The event will coincide with the release of Connecticut’s first statewide blueprint for policy change around youth homelessness.

Speakers include:

  • Beth Holger-Ambrose, Executive Director, The Link
  • Jasmine Hayes, Policy Director, U.S. Interagency Council on Homelessness
  • Brian Roccapriore, Director of HMIS and Strategic Analysis, CT Coalition to End Homelessness
  • Louis Tallarita, Education Services Specialist, CT Department of Education
  • Stacey Violante-Cote, Director, Teen Legal Advocacy Project, Center for Children’s Advocacy
  • CT Youth Count participants

Speakers will share:

  • National overview of emerging practices
  • History and future of the Minnesota Homeless Youth Act, which supports services for youth who are homeless
  • Process and lessons learned from Connecticut’s first statewide Youth Count
  • Short and long-term programmatic and policy recommendations developed by the Reaching Home Homeless Youth Workgroup
