Due to the inclement weather, HYPE and YES have made the decision to postpone this event. We hope to announce a new date shortly.

Young Energetic Solutions is excited to partner with HYPE (Hartford Young Professionals and Entrepreneurs) for Boards and Commissions on Tap.

With an introduction by Hartford Mayor Luke Bronin and Middletown Mayor Dan Drew, this panel discussion will offer information on how millennials can get involved in shaping their community by joining a local town Board or Commission, as well as the roles and responsibilities of these entities. Attendees will have the opportunity to speak with town representatives from various Boards and Commissions in the Metro Hartford region.

Panelists include:

  • Nick Pinto, Industrial Real Estate Broker for Sentry Commercial. Nick is Vice Chair of HYPE’s Civic Engagement Committee and will speak to the challenges and opportunities of joining a board or commission.
  • Jon Cabral, Multifamily Operations Officer, Connecticut Housing Finance Authority.  Jon is a young Hartford resident with a unique story of how he became involved in Hartford’s Parks & Recs Advisory Commission
  • Essie Labrot, Town Clerk, Town of West Hartford.  Essie will talk about the process for joining a board or commission and the impact of participating on one.
