A basic primer that enables you to be more conversant and knowledgeable about the world of development and the factors that shape how it works.  An introductory session, seasoned veterans may find it old hat: on the other hand, they may also use it to hone their ability to communicate with their public and community leaders.

Part 2: Defining Your Economic Development Program
What Program is Right for You?
Designed to stimulate thought about what type of economic development program your downtown should undertake, this session will examine a continuum of options.  One key message: no one model fits all.

Learn about the various typologies and which best suits your organization and your community.  A case study will explore retail recruitment and examine the various program options and opportunities that exist.  We will discuss the nuts & bolts of retail recruitment and programs that are designed to promote business attraction.
