This event is an opportunity for people to learn the benefits of collaboration which will save money and leverage the purchases and agreements with their town. The event will highlight people who are already implementing positive changes. Panel discussions, workshops, and Q and A with key leaders and a distinguished panel of experts on the many ways that municipalities can collaborate to gain efficiency and control costs and pass on the benefits to the taxpayers.

Building Vibrant Communities – The following statewide organizations involved in downtown development will talk about tools and resources to create great communities:
- Kimberley Parsons-Whitaker, Associate Director, CT Main Street Center will discuss how to restore value to our downtowns using a comprehensive and transformative approach.
- Kathryn Shafer of Partnership for Strong Communities will discuss housing as part of a vibrant town center, and how towns and cities can position themselves for success by providing more housing options.
- Robert Santy of CT Economic Resource Center (CERC) will address the collaborative approach to municipal economic development, and the various roles the local “economic development team” can play.
