New Britain Issues RFP for 125 Columbus Blvd

The City of New Britain is seeking responses to a request for proposals for the redevelopment of the 125 Columbus Blvd parcel, adjacent to the former Police Station site and the Columbus Commons Phase I project.

The location provides easy pedestrian access to Downtown New Britain and will offer eclectic urban views from upper-story residential units. The site has undergone Phase II and III environmental assessment, which was completed in the first quarter of 2022. At approximately 0.85 acres, the site enjoys a level grade and access to municipal and public utilities. Bounded by Columbus Boulevard and Herald Square, both rights-of-way have undergone recent streetscape improvements. The parcel’s location in the City’s Central Business District (CBD) zone provides significant flexibility in regards to dimensional, density, parking, and allowable use requirements—giving the developer a wide range of construction options. Bids are due electronically by 4:00pm on Friday, January 27, 2023.
