In a letter to the Hartford Courant, Stephen Hard, chair of the Central Regional Tourism District, discusses the ramifications of the State’s decision to de-fund Connecticut’s Regional Tourism Districts:  “Connecticut has also spent a great deal of money to stimulate “Creative Placemaking,” focusing on what is interesting and specifically “Connecticut.” The tourism districts’ primary function is to make the incredible variety of tourism assets known to the state, to tourism consumers and to other tourism entities. Eliminating the districts squanders decades of investment in our grass-roots efforts.”
