A public hearing on HB 6966 will take place on Wednesday, February 22 at 10:30 am in Room 2D of the Connecticut General Assembly’s Legislative Office Building (LOB).

Bill Details:

HB 6966 would amend the Connecticut General Statutes to permit modifications to guidelines for urban street design, including, but not limited to, new uses of parking spots, rules for one-way to one-way intersections, and lower speed limits.

In recent years, cities including Boston and NYC have lowered the default municipal speed limit on city streets to 25 MPH, a concrete step to making streets safer for walkers, cyclists, transit users, and drivers.
