CMSC has long said downtown is the place to be, frequently noting that demand is growing among young professionals who want to be close to their work as well as social and recreational activities.  A new Hartford Courant article reports that Hartford is responding with a wave of smaller, less expensive apartments aimed at exactly this demographic. “Over the next three or four years, downtown could see the addition of another 1,000 apartments — as many as 85 percent of them studios and one-bedrooms — in at least five major projects and an array of smaller conversions,” the article notes.
