NPR’s J Holt met with Denise Best, local resident and Upper Albany Development Incorporated board member, to discuss the options for a parcel of land at the intersection of Albany Avenue and Woodland Street in Hartford. The community wants to see the site developed into a jazz supper club, while others proposed a more traditional commerical strip site, anchored by a large drugstore.  Hartford’s Director of Development Services, Thom Deller, worked with the community to understand their viewpoint and chose a developer, Sheldon Oak Central, who was willing to address the community’s needs.
