Newtown leaders have selected CMSC to revamp branding of Sandy Hook to bring more customers back to the neighborhood, reports the Newtown Patch. CMSC is bringing on South Carolina-based Arnett Muldrow & Associates and Canton, CT-based Netmark Associates to work with the Sandy Hook Organization for Prosperity (SHOP).
Contracting with CMSC represents the next phase of the distribution for the Small Town Economic Assistance Program (STEAP) funds the state allotted to Sandy Hook businesses in the aftermath of the Dec. 14 shooting, reports the Patch. Dozens of Sandy Hook businesses applied for and received funds to make up for the customers they lost following the tragic event. This next step will address how Sandy Hook merchants brand and market the unique businesses, dining experiences, and beautiful vistas that Sandy Hook Village has to offer.
Phase one of the project will run from September through December and involve local business owners and patrons in focus groups and workshops, with a branding and marketing plan expected in mid-November.
