CMSC is recommending that New Haven convene a neighborhood revitalization task force that would expand the mission of the Elm City Business Development Center, reports the New Haven Register.

In March, CMSC conducted a weeklong analysis of four key commercial corridors and neighborhoods, during which CMSC President & CEO John Simone and consultant Kent Burnes met with some 300 citizens and officials on what they wanted to see happen.

Steve Fontana, acting deputy development director, said the organizational structure recommended by Main Street has been successful in other cities and helped Westville Village in New Haven grow its retail base.  He added that Mayor Harp will decide going forward which aspects of the report to implement.
