In a project New Britain Mayer Erin Steward says will be “the catalyst for reviving the Hardware City’s downtown”, POKO Partners LLC has submitted plans to redevelop the former site of the New Britain Police Department.  The New York-based firm has been chosen to build “Columbus Commons,” a mixed-use project with an estimated price tag of $58 million.  The Hartford Business Journal quotes POKO’s Andrea Kretchmer: “The buildings feature elements of active design, encouraging residents to move around the commons: to live, work and play in this revitalized corner of downtown New Britain.”
