The global reach of tech-savvy Millennials is being felt in city centers, even in typically old-fashioned ones like Montevideo, the capital of Uruguay.  Recently young entrepreneurs, fueled by their awareness of global trends, are bringing new restaurants, boutiques and other businesses to this quiet South American city.

The Times quotes Mónica Zanocchi, the founder of a popular blog: “Thanks in part to social media, young Uruguayans have a global mind-set and are very motivated. There are a lot of creative professionals entering the work force, and since established companies can’t absorb all of this new talent, they end up becoming entrepreneurs.”
