Middletown is one of three towns chosen for CMSC’s Come Home to Downtown pilot program, reports the Hartford Courant. Come Home to Downtownwill bring consultants to property owners in Middletown, Torrington and Waterbury who are looking to upgrade or renovate their buildings into a mix of uses, typically housing on the upper floors and restaurants or retail on the first floor.

“People want to live down here, they want to live in this kind of environment but there’s not a lot of supply to choose from,” said William Warner, Middletown Planning Director. “We want to create a place where people can work, shop live and recreate all year round.”
