The Mansfield-Storrs Patch reports that the Mansfield Downtown Partnership plans to submit a Main Street Investment Fund (MSIF) Program application for a grant in the amount of $500,000. The funds will be used to enhance public space at the new Storrs Center.
The Main Street Investment Fund provides grants of up to $500,000 to eligible municipalities that have approved plans to develop or improve their town’s commercial centers. The MSIF Program is administered by the Office of Policy and Management (OPM) through an application process. Connecticut Main Street Center (CMSC), in collaboration with OPM, held a series of workshops around the State in July and August 2012 to provide information on this program, including who may apply and project eligibility requirements. Applications for this program are due September 28.
