Thanks to a grant from the Connecticut Main Street Center, Bridgeport is the next stop for a series of Hackathon events around the Northeast this fall seeking technical solutions to local problems. The grant, received by Bridgeport’s Downtown Special Services District is earmarked to promote initiatives that bring creative minds to downtown Bridgeport.
Participants will meet at the Bridgeport Public Library starting Friday evening, and continuing over the weekend, with the goal of making commuting easier through technology.
DSSD President Michael Moore says they are working closely with local colleges and universities to get students involved, and are “really trying to encourage that type of innovation downtown.” The event is open to the public. For more information visit www.bridgeporthackathon.com
