A community meeting will be held tonight, June 26 at 5:30 PM in the UConn Multipurpose Room, 99 East Main Street, Waterbury to introduce the Come Home to Downtown program and possible redevelop options to the town’s residents.  The public is encouraged to attend and offer their feedback.

Waterbury was chosen as one of the three pilot communities for the Come Home to Downtown program.  This program, which is supported by the Connecticut Housing Finance Authority (CHFA), aims to strengthen communities by creating specific strategies to redevelop vacant or underutilized buildings into a mix of uses and housing choices. The building at 20 East Main Street was chosen to receive customized technical assistance on the best way to redevelop the building into housing and retail or office space.
