A community meeting will be held on June 19 at 5:30 PM in the City Hall Auditorium at 140 Main Street, Torrington, to introduce the Come Home to Downtown program and possible redevelop options to the town’s residents.  The public is encouraged to attend and offer their feedback.

Torrington was chosen as one of the three pilot communities for the Come Home to Downtown program.  This program, which is supported by the Connecticut Housing Finance Authority (CHFA), aims to strengthen communities by creating specific strategies to redevelop vacant or underutilized buildings into a mix of uses and housing choices. The building at 11-21 Main Street was chosen to receive customized technical assistance on the best way to redevelop the building into housing and retail or office space.
