Canton won a $10,000 grant from CMSC for a marketing campaign to promote redevelopment in Collinsville, reports the Hartford Courant.   The POP grant matches money the town already allocated for marketing efforts.

Town officials collaborated on the grant application, which was awarded through CMSC’s Preservation of Place program.  As a CT Main Street member community, Canton officials have already been working with CMSC on efforts to improve Collinsville.

“The grant will boost our efforts to develop an effective marketing and brand strategy for Collinsville and ultimately Canton as a whole,” EDA Chairman Robert Bessel said in a statement. “We now have additional funds to help identify the audience we want to attract to Collinsville and to develop the creative elements that will appeal to that audience. We are committed to building off of our historic assets to ensure that our economic development efforts achieve the right balance of growth and preservation.”
